When I picked this up after work yesterday, Raffe asked if I'd heard their hummus had been rated best in Memphis by a local news station. Congrats! It was already my favorite.

Yes, the Gyros there are massive! I would always go with a soft pita bread instead of chips, so I don't know much about that. Hopefully it's better now, because I always loved Raffe's. It has probably been a year since I've eaten there, though, so who knows?
Same thing with Saigon Le. One of my favorites for years, then it hit a rough patch, and then they turned it back around and make great food again.

This used to be one of my favorite things to eat in Memphis, but something went wrong. I think maybe management changed or something. The last few times I've had this the pita bread was a bit stale and the hummus tasted like it had been made several days ago.

I had my first visit to Raffe's a few weeks ago (the gyros are HUGE) and tried the hummus. I don't have any past experiences to compare it to, but I did think that the hummus had a little too much lemon in it for my tastes. The pita chips were fine the last two times I went, so maybe you just got a bad batch.
